Jane – Nursery Manager Background: I have a BS in Meat and Animal Science from UW-Madison and worked in the animal production and sales and marketing fields for several years before deciding to follow my heart and work with plants. Being the nursery manager at Schönheit Gardens is my dream job, because I get to order all the plants for the nursery that I want to buy! First Interest in Gardening: Helping my grandmother pick beans, peas, strawberries, and raspberries in her wonderful garden. Actually I think I ate most of them as I picked them. Size of Garden: I bought my house on two acres in 1991 with about a half-acre of lawn and the rest low land and wild prairie. My goal is to get rid of all the lawn and replace it with flowerbeds as I would much rather spend my time working with my flowers than mowing lawn! Favorite Garden Style: English Cottage with flowers blooming everywhere! Pets: Xena (Warrior Princess) a beautiful Siberian Husky with unlimited energy. Hobbies/Interests: When I’m not working at the Nursery, or working in my own garden, or attending a gardening group meeting, or just thinking about gardening in general, I enjoy reading, cooking, dancing, yoga, and going to the movies, theatre, and ethnic restaurants. Personal Items of Interest: I’m a plant collector so I want one of everything, which makes for a very diverse garden!
